Being a leading independant concrete supplier, Premix Concrete SA believe we have a duty to act and operate in a manner that is safe and responsible. We have adopted safe systems of work - as required by government regulations - and we are adopting applicable Australian Standards related to health and safety to our workplace. Routine servicing of trucks and plant helps to ensure we continue to operate our major plant in a safe and efficient manner. Our batching plants are subject to strict safety requirements regarding their access and also regarding the routine maintenance which is undertaken. Our company uniform was designed with safety in mind, with all staff are required to wear their "High Visibility" uniform. When required we can provide clients with a "Safe Delivery" safety management plan which details the responsibilities of staff, and, safety controls to be implemented for particular jobs.

Apart from our responsibility to ensure we supply good, quality products, and, opperate in a safe manner, Premix Concrete SA are also aware of their responsibility to act in a manner which reduces the impact its operations have on the environment . Consequently, Premix Concrete, through the developement on an environmental management plan, are committed to applying industry related standards of environmental practices. Premix Concrete SA designed, developed and installed a "state of the art" water recycling system in their plants which is used to recover and recycle water for washing trucks at the end of a shift. The system was inspected by staff of the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA), and their feedback indicates that the system is an excellent example of the recycling of water. Premix Concrete has adopted an environmental focus in other areas of its opperations such as the recycling of returned concrete into landfill blocks, steps taken to control dust emissions, and using fuel efficient trucks. The efforts of Premix Concrete SA have been recognised by the "Cement Concrete & Aggregates Australia" association which presented Premix Concrete with an Environmental Award - "Most Improved Concrete Plant - 2006". We are not standing still on environmental issues. In March 2008 Premix Concrete SA joined the S1k environmental programme, run by Village Green, with the aim of reducing our green house gas emissions, water usage and energy used within our administrative and workshop buildings. Other environmental projects in place include developing fleet management and maintenance systems. updated 18/3/08
